BANGKOK, Thailand — October 8, 2026 — Thailand’s Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has launched “Yuttharat”, a joint operation involving more than 10 government agencies to investigate suspected networks involving foreign nationals, nominee structures, financial transactions and asset ownership. Authorities conducted searches at three locations across Bangkok as part of an effort to trace the network and identify its alleged controllers and beneficiaries.
The operation involved the DSI, Special Branch Police, Anti-Money Laundering Office, Revenue Department, Department of Employment, Department of Provincial Administration, Department of Lands, Department of Business Development, Immigration Bureau and Metropolitan Police Bureau. Investigators examined links between individuals, companies, assets, financial transactions, foundations and associations, including entities connected to Israeli nationals.
At the first location, Chabad Bangkok Foundation in Phra Nakhon, authorities found three Myanmar nationals allegedly working without work permits and allegedly staying in Thailand without authorization. One employer was also prosecuted for allegedly employing foreign workers without valid work permits. At the third location, Jewish Association of Thailand in Khlong Toei, officers found two Lao nationals allegedly working without permits and initiated proceedings against one employer.
At the second location, Gan Chabad Co., Ltd. in Bang Rak, investigators found documents relating to foundation and association registrations, donations, membership records, land purchases, building construction, tax filings and the operation of Chabad House, as well as restaurant and accommodation businesses. Authorities also found documents involving 61 companies registered at the same office address. Preliminary checks indicated that some individuals appeared as directors or shareholders across multiple entities, including individuals who had obtained Thai nationality through naturalization.
The operation follows a previous DSI investigation involving Cozy Beach View Co., Ltd. in Chon Buri under Special Case No. 135/2569, concerning alleged violations of Thailand’s Foreign Business Act. DSI said the evidence gathered from the latest searches will be analyzed and expanded to identify the ultimate beneficiaries, controllers and related assets before being forwarded to the relevant agencies for further legal action.
