PATTAYA, Thailand — October 5, 2026 — Thailand’s Immigration Bureau, working with the Crime Suppression Division, has arrested a 67-year-old Chinese national wanted by Chinese authorities in connection with a bribery case. The man, identified as MR. WANG, also known as “A Chang,” was located in Pattaya at around 4 p.m.

According to Thai authorities, MR. WANG was wanted under an arrest warrant issued by the Public Security Bureau of Luanzhou City, Tangshan, Hebei Province, dated June 25, 2024. China’s authorities had informed Thai Immigration in August 2026 that the warrant remained active and requested his arrest and detention.

The case dates back to 2004–2017, when MR. WANG allegedly controlled construction companies in Tangshan and Hebei. Authorities said he paid approximately 5.1 million yuan in bribes to a former hospital director to obtain construction contracts and other improper benefits. On June 29, 2024, the Luanzhou People’s Court reportedly sentenced him to four years and six months in prison and fined him 500,000 yuan for bribery.

Thai authorities had revoked his permission to remain in Thailand effective August 10, 2026. After a continued investigation and search, MR. WANG eventually contacted officers and agreed to surrender. He was taken to the Immigration Bureau’s Investigation Division 3 for further legal proceedings.
